Wordsmith is a multidisciplinary Artist and philanthropist from Baltimore, Maryland, known for blending the raw energy of hip-hop with the elegance of classical orchestration and the soul of jazz and spoken word. A storyteller and educator, he transforms music into a force for social impact — connecting generations, cultures, and communities through purpose-driven art.

A Grammy Voting Member, Wordsmith is the winner of the 2025 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards, finalist for the 2025 Baltimore Screenwriters Competition, named one of  25 Black Marylanders to Watch by the Baltimore Sun and his music/jingles are featured on prominent networks like WWE, ESPN Sportscenter, Kawasaki, Russian Doll (Netflix), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix), Preacher (AMC) and many more! 

As an International Exchange Alumni with the U.S. Department of State, Wordsmith has performed concerts, led humanitarian missions, and conducted poetry/music workshops in over a dozen countries—including Azerbaijan, Haiti, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Angola, Ukraine, Namibia, Côte d’Ivoire, Panama, Tunisia, and Tanzania—continuing to expand his global reach since 2016.

In 2020, Wordsmith officially became an Artistic Partner with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO).  Alongside composer James Lee III, he debuted two commissioned works: Destined Words for the BSO Gala Celebration in honor of Marin Alsop and the Frederick Douglass inspired piece Freedom’s Genuine Dawn.

He has since premiered major reinterpretations of Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale”, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, the classical fusion piece  Made in America and the world premiere of Network to Freedom at the B&O Railroad Museum on MLK Day 2024! In 2024, he joined the Minnesota Orchestra for a special performance of Made in America, and in early 2025 he premiered Keep Going, No Matter an autobiographical orchestral work inspired by Reginald F. Lewis.

Wordsmith’s powerful composition “Network to Freedom” is nationally featured on the Underground Railroad Legacy website, where it serves as an artistic tribute to the courage, resilience, and unity embodied by freedom seekers.

In 2020, Wordsmith founded his nonprofit Rise with a Purpose, Inc., the same year he delivered his first TED Talk through Johns Hopkins University. He later joined the Baltimore School for the Arts faculty as a playwright and director and was elected to the Board of Directors for the B&O Railroad Museum, affirming his commitment to arts education and cultural preservation.

Returning to his acting roots, Wordsmith has starred in theatrical productions such as “A Few Good Men, ” “A Christmas Carol for Edgar Allan Poe” and “Pipeline,” and has appeared on the TV series “The Braxtons: The First Family.”
