Wordsmith is a multidisciplinary and philanthropist from Baltimore, Maryland, known for blending the raw energy of hip-hop with the elegance of classical orchestration and the soul of jazz and spoken word. A storyteller and educator, he transforms music into a force for social impact — connecting generations, cultures, and communities through purpose-driven art.

A Grammy Voting Member, winner of the 2025 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards, and finalist for the 2025 Baltimore Screenwriters Competition, Wordsmith has built a global following by creating music that teaches as much as it entertains. His compositions carry messages of empathy, perseverance, and unity. With albums like Music for Mankind and Masterpiece Theater, he continues to redefine what it means to be a conscious artist today — balancing lyricism, live instrumentation, and theatrical expression in every performance.

As a SONGWRITER, composer and artistic partner with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Wordsmith has created commissioned works that blend orchestral arrangements with hip-hop narratives, earning recognition from educators, arts leaders, and civic institutions alike. His powerful collaborations include Keep Going, No Matter What — an autobiographical tribute to America’s first Black billionaire, Reginald F. Lewis — as well as fusion works like Made in America, the Frederick Douglass–inspired Freedom’s Genuine Dawn, and Network to Freedom, a moving piece rooted in the history of the Underground Railroad. Together, these works bridge past and present, transforming American history into living, breathing art that confronts injustice and celebrates the resilience of the human spirit.

His music has reached millions through licensing placements on major networks such as ESPN, WWE, Netflix, AMC, and NFL Network and more. His distinctive sound — a fusion of soulful melodies, cinematic storytelling, and inspirational wordplay — has appeared in commercials, films, and television around the world.

As an actor, Wordsmith expands his impact across stage and screen through a growing list of dynamic, purpose-driven performances. His television work includes a featured role on The Braxton’s: The First Family, and on film he appears in the independent drama About That Time. Onstage, he has performed in major theatrical productions such as A Soldier’s Tale with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, A Christmas Carol for Edgar Allan Poe, A Few Good Men, Pipeline, and more.

Wordsmith’s work extends far beyond the stage. As founder of Rise with a Purpose, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, he empowers youth and underserved communities through music, theater, and education. Its flagship program, the My Brilliance Shines Youth Theater Troupe, gives Baltimore students hands-on experience in acting, writing, and performance. Teaching playwriting and directing at Baltimore School for the Arts, Wordsmith continues to influence the next generation of artists!
